## Frequently asked questions

### What is WUDA Digital Savings?
WUDA Digital Savings is the savings and loans system of the Western Uganda Deejays Association. Members save from their phones with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money, borrow against their savings and see every shilling in their own statement.

### Who can join WUDA?
DJs, MCs and friends of the association aged 18 or older. You sign up with your name, National ID number (NIN) and mobile money number, and an officer approves your membership.

### How do I pay in my savings?
From your phone with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money. Each payment is recorded straight away and shows in your statement. The smallest deposit is UGX 1,000.

### How much can I borrow?
Up to 2 times your savings, from UGX 50,000 to UGX 5,000,000, once you have saved at least UGX 100,000 and been a member for 3 months. Interest is 1.5% a month on the reducing balance, repaid over 1, 2, 3 or 6 months. You need 1 guarantor who is also a member.

### Is my money safe?
Every payment carries its Mobile Money reference, no officer can approve or record their own money, and every change is kept in an audit trail. You can check your balance and download your statement at any time.

### What is a kibiina, and does it still work the same way?
A kibiina is a savings group where members contribute regularly, support each other and share out at the end. WUDA keeps the traditions: regular contributions, the rotation, fines, welfare and the share-out, but records everything on your phone instead of a notebook and cash box.

### Can other savings groups use the system?
Yes. Any group can start a Digital Kibiina, invite members with a code shared on WhatsApp and collect contributions by Mobile Money. New groups are approved by WUDA before they go live. A small platform fee, usually 0.5% of each payment, keeps the system running.

### Can I use it in my own language?
Yes. Tap the globe button at the top of the page to switch to Luganda, Runyankore-Rukiga, Acholi, Lango, Ateso or Dhopadhola (Jopadhola Luo). Anything not yet translated shows in English.

### Is there an app?
Yes. Open the site on your phone and tap Install the app. It sits on your home screen like any other app and can send you notifications.
